UTASA has been informed that some Insurers, have declined to pay Tow Companies for work done, due to the CIPRO status of their businesses as in “ FINAL DEREGISTRATION “. UTASA urges you to contact your bookkeeper / auditors, and ensure that your business is registered accordingly. CIPRO automatically places your business in the DEREGISTRATION PHASE, if your annual returns are not done. Once these are done, the insurers will pay what is owed to you. 2. The attached AUTHORISATION FORM Refers:- With the new Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008, which came in to effect on the 01 April 2011, UTASA have formulated an AUTHORISATION FORM, which you could possibly use. Please take note of the terms and conditions. It would be suggested that you put these points on your forms, protecting yourself in the process. Keep in mind that you have to write the fees charged on the FRONT of your forms, before the client signs acceptance. Fine print on the reverse of these documents is no longer allowed nor valid.
